Pump Peelz

Pump Peelz – The New Way to Manage Diabetes

If you have diabetes, you’re probably already familiar with the process of sticking yourself with needles to check your blood sugar levels and then giving yourself an insulin injection if they aren’t within a healthy range. Pump Peelz are an innovative new way to manage your diabetes that doesn’t require this cumbersome and dangerous process; instead, the adhesive patches stick directly onto your pump and give you an alert on your phone when you need to take an injection or eat something sweet to regulate your blood sugar levels. The best part about these amazing diabetes management devices?

Before you start

You may have heard of pump patches. You probably haven’t heard of Pump Peelz. That’s because we created them, and they’re new on our website. PumpPeelz are a form of insulin pump patch that safely remove your insulin pump site when it becomes infected or damaged. They’re sold in pairs and easy to apply, whether you use standard needles or Accu-Chek soft clamps (softclix). They’re reusable and can last up to 7 days at a time. And they cost just $19.95 per pair — that means one pack will save you about $25 on health care costs for two months!

How do they work?

They are designed to be very simple and easy-to-remove, so you don’t have to worry about leaving any sticky residue behind on your skin. Simply pull off the patch while still in place, and throw it away with your normal trash. Alternatively, some users say that they like putting their used patches in a special baggie or container for disposal later. If you do choose to do that, make sure that you put them into a sealed container or bag first. This will keep other trash from sticking onto them as they wait for their own disposal. You should also wash your hands thoroughly after handling them (because yes, even though they’re biodegradable, it's still technically plastic!) before eating or touching anything else.

Do I need more than one kind?

Right now, there are only two Pump Peelz. Our original design features an eight-hour wear patch that comes in a three-pack with 18 total patches. Our newest design features a six-hour wear patch that come with 24 total patches and is designed for those who want fewer adjustments through their day. However, we’re currently testing out other designs—especially ones with longer wear times than eight hours—that we plan on adding to our lineup once they’ve been perfected. We’ll be sure to update you on any news about new products!

How do I remove the Peelz patches?

Patches should be worn for 10 hours or less at a time. As with any medicine patch, it is normal to feel some discomfort when removing Pump Peelz. They are designed to peel off easily, while still adhering well enough during wear so that they don’t come off until you want them too. This can take a few seconds and may vary depending on hair type, skin type, and how long you have been wearing them. If your skin becomes irritated during removal, discontinue use and contact our customer service department for assistance in returning unused patches for a full refund within 30 days of purchase.

How often should I change my pump Peelz?

Most insulin pumps have a two-week application limit, so it’s important to change your patches regularly. When it comes time for replacement, pump Peelz can be peeled off without damaging or tearing your skin or other pump parts and they peel back easily when it’s time for another application. Remember, clean skin is essential; don’t apply Pump Peelz if you have an infection on your site (or anywhere else on your body). If you tend to get bumps from things like tape or adhesive bandages, you may find that Pump Peelz cause mild irritation at first. This should improve after a few days of use; just make sure that you’re changing them every two weeks and applying lotion regularly to keep your skin healthy.

Is there anything else I should know about them?

Here are a few things you should know about Pump Peelz: your skin does not absorb insulin pump patches; they’re safe and reliable; there is no harm in using them; and because of how diabetes works, sometimes blood sugar levels spike and cause hypoglycemia. This is where Pump Peelz come in handy. They help keep blood sugar levels balanced, but they don’t cure anything. It’s just another way to manage diabetes.
